As the Custodian of Housing Works Commercial Facilities, your responsibilities include the day-to-day operation and cleanliness of commercial locations including communication process of repairs, supply needs, safety, security and physical environment, and compliance with regulatory requirements (OSHA, Fire Safety, etc.) Responsibilities

Ensure that all physical space of a facility is sanitary, clean and orderly. Comply with regulatory requirements for facility maintenance and cleaning supplies are stored properly. Be proactive; keep Facility Manager informed of daily activities and significant conditions that may impact accomplishing tasks assigned. Adhere to the scheduled or routine custodial and maintenance plans to ensure that all common, kitchen and office areas of commercial properties are maintained in a clean, sanitary, and orderly manner (power washing, painting, daily custodian schedule, etc.) Ensures restrooms are sanitary and attractive throughout the day and have adequate supplies as needed. All trash bins, shredders and recycling bins are emptied throughout the day, and containers are sanitized weekly. Rugs and floors properly cleaned daily and monthly buffing & polishing and carpet cleaning is scheduled. Dust and vacuum all offices and common spaces; as well as general maintenance needed; light bulbs, moving & arranging of office furniture and polishing of applicable metalwork as needed. Ensure all debris, water, snow and garbage from hallways, sidewalks and entrances & exits are cleared for staff & client safety and compliance with facility leases. Assume responsibility for care and maintenance of tools, equipment, and cleaning supplies. Check in with Senior Custodians and Facility Manager to be aware of and address the Salesforce-based work order system, as per agency policy. Provide excellent customer service. Respond to customer requests/work order inquiries in a timely and courteous manner. Perform office moves, minor construction projects (patching, painting, etc.) as needed. Serves as the major liaison with the site supervisors and Facility Manager to ensure communication of housekeeping needs are being met. Advises the Facility Manager about personnel requirements, material needs, subcontract requirements, facility and equipment need to meet or exceed operational plans. Helps coordinate activities with all other functions of the organization and suppliers to obtain optimum production and utilization of human resources, IT, and equipment. Ensures all assigned employees are aware of and comply with company, government, and customer policies, procedures, and regulations. Help monitor facility security and safety by performing tasks such as locking doors and checking electrical appliances to ensure safety hazards are not created.
