Night Venue Manager (part-time) for the College of Fine Arts and Communications (CFAC) oversees the safe and efficient operation of CFAC performance venues during evening performances and events. Acts as the on-site representative of the Stage Operations Manager after hours, ensures a positive audience experience, supervises student employees in front-of-house and stage management roles, resolves conflicts, and upholds safety protocols. This position carries a high degree of responsibility and pressure to ensure the student performers, technicians, and house staff create a safe and positive experience for guests of the College. What You’ll Do In This Position

Operational Leadership

Serve as the primary point of contact for all performance-related concerns during evening events Represent all operational areas in support of technical and patron needs Collaborate with the Stage Operations Manager and venue leadership to provide feedback on student staff performance and operational needs Front-of-House Supervision

Supervise and support student employees serving as ushers, house managers, and stage managers Provide guidance, mentorship, and accountability for student staff to ensure professionalism and smooth operations Patron Experience

Assist patrons with seating issues, including resolving conflicts around incorrect seats or ticketing errors Provide courteous and professional communication when patrons arrive on the wrong night or without proper tickets Foster a welcoming and inclusive environment for all audience members Technical Oversight

Act as the Stage Operations Manager’s delegate during evening hours Troubleshoot minor technical or equipment issues to ensure performances proceed smoothly Coordinate with technical staff as needed for any urgent matters Assist with uninstall of show elements on last night of performance run Ensure the venue is properly secured, cleaned, and reset following performances Safety & Emergency Preparedness

Serve as the on-site lead in the event of emergencies such as medical incidents, fire alarms, power outages, or other unforeseen disruptions Follow and enforce established emergency and evacuation protocols Communicate effectively with staff, patrons, and emergency personnel when required Required

What qualifies you for this role:

A firm commitment to the mission of BYU 4 years of experience in theatrical production, venue operations, or a related field Preferred

Bachelor’s degree in theatrical production, venue operations, or a related discipline, plus 2 years of additional experience Experience in a university or professional performing arts environment plus supervisory experience preferred What We Offer In Return
