Overview Oshkosh AeroTech is a leading provider of aviation ground support products, gate equipment and airport services to commercial airlines, airports, air-freight carriers, ground handling and military customers. We offer on-site maintenance services to airlines across North America, including 24/7 support and scheduled maintenance.
Responsibilities
Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair and maintain baggage conveyor and controls systems and related equipment.
Provide concise, accurate data for input of all maintenance information into the CMMS system.
Perform emergency/unscheduled and scheduled maintenance repairs of equipment.
Conduct mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of conveyer and control systems.
Drive and operate equipment such as golf carts, company vehicles, forklifts, etc.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
Input all work orders into the CMMS system and complete PMs and CM logs and paperwork.
Support operations by clearing bag jams on the system.
Comply with the company safety program.
Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
Valid Driver’s License Required.
Ability to obtain airport security clearance.
Availability to work day or night shift including weekends and holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
3-5 years' related experience in equipment maintenance and maintenance operations.
Proficient in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repair of baggage machines.
Airport experience is a plus.
Intermediate understanding of PLC control systems is a plus.
Ability to read blueprints and electrical schematics.
Proficiency in Word and Excel.
Ability to direct and lead work tasks and delegate assignments to peers.
Professional communication with customers and fellow employees.
Prior experience with passenger boarding bridges and conveyance systems is preferred.
Physical Demands While performing duties, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, handle, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee may climb or balance and work in small spaces. Ladder work is required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 49 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions on an airport ramp around aircraft and in confined areas of baggage conveyor systems. Visual acuity and color perception are required.
Work Environment The work environment is similar to airport operations, with vehicular traffic and exposure to moving mechanical parts, high places, fumes or airborne particles, and potentially loud noise. Employees work on an airport ramp around aircraft and heavy equipment.
