Responsibilities
Assist the Fleet Mechanic/Driver with the operation and continued maintenance of North American Disaster Relief's fleet of vehicles and supporting equipment.
Travel to field sites, provide logistical support, and assist with tool management while ensuring the safety and quality of work for staff and volunteers.
Maintain the vehicle fleet and equipment in response‑ready mode, recording all work performed on check‑lists and work orders.
Promote a clean, organized, and safety‑conscious working environment, including tools, shop areas, and warehouses.
Assist with disaster relief inventory and track NADR assets.
Communicate with beneficiaries—children, young adults, and adults at risk—to support their welfare within project contexts.
Follow all Samaritan's Purse policies and procedures as outlined in the Policy Manual.
Participate in daily morning devotions and prayer support for the ministry, donors, and volunteers.
Maintain a strong Christian witness in interactions with colleagues, vendors, beneficiaries, and the public.
Perform any other duties assigned that are not specifically identified above.
A day in the life of an Equipment Service Technician
Begin each day with a time of devotions and prayer.
Travel to field sites as needed to maintain and operate vehicles and equipment.
Provide logistical support and assistance with tool management and project site instruction.
Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and safety of the work environment and equipment.
Maintain accurate logs and documentation of maintenance, repairs, and equipment status.
Engage volunteers, homeowners, and staff to support mission goals.
Qualifications & Experience
Must acquire a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and a valid DOT Medical Card within one year of hire.
High‑school diploma or GED plus at least one year of related experience/training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to maintain and troubleshoot a wide variety of equipment, including trucks, trailers, small equipment, and power tools.
Ability to drive for an extended period of time.
Ready to deploy with very short notice.
