Howmet has opportunities for individuals who will join a dedicated team to manufacture high-tech products safely, accurately, and efficiently, performing a variety of hands-on operations in accordance with standardized processes within customer specifications.
Job Summary : Coordinate work activities on a daily (shift-to-shift) basis to meet customer delivery schedules under the direction of the Department Supervisor.
Responsibilities Essential Roles & Responsibilities (not limited to):
Production Skills 20%
— Coordinates workflow through the department daily to meet production schedule; ensures daily production goals are met in quantity and quality; utilizes methods that reduce cost and increase productivity; observes and adheres to performance standards and reports shortfalls to supervisor; ensures maintenance of equipment by applying TPM or other methods.
Leadership 30%
— Demonstrates Howmet values in approach to work and ethics; maintains relationships with peers, subordinates, superiors, and customers; promotes teamwork within and between departments; pursues self-development opportunities; works on assigned projects to meet department goals and objectives.
Communications 15%
— Communicates verbally and in writing with peers, superiors, customers and suppliers; maintains shift turnover communication; assigns and executes verbal and written instructions; conducts team meetings.
Operator Skills 5%
— Possesses working knowledge of all non-certified operations in the department.
Scheduling 15%
— Executes shift work instructions to align for changes, absences, downtime, or overtime; coordinates scheduling with Shared Resources, Central Stores, Tool Room, and Maintenance.
Work Systems 5%
— Adheres to work instructions, labor reporting, visual controls and Integrated Process Control; conducts audits.
Training 5%
— Identifies, evaluates and documents training needs; trains operators using one-on-one or other techniques.
Safety 5%
— Monitors safety and corrects issues; uses 5S to maintain a clean and safe workplace; complies with Safety Regulations and Work Rules; adheres to attendance policies and overtime guidelines; performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications:
Minimum of one year of manufacturing experience.
Ability to provide documentation establishing identity and employment eligibility in the U.S.
Access to export-controlled items requires lawful access.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Prior manufacturing leadership experience preferred.
