The Nurse Shift Manager (NSM) is a Registered Nurse (RN) responsible for overseeing patient care and administrative activities in their respective department(s)/unit(s). The NSM continually evaluates the quality and effectiveness of patient care practices and care delivery. Medical/clinical knowledge, technical skills, clinical judgment, interpersonal skills and communication skills are essential components of nursing management. Promotes staffing compliance and ensures safe staffing assignments. Monitors staffing to achieve productivity and budget standards. The NSM works within the scope and standards of practice set by the American Nurses Association and any professional organizations specific to the specialty. The NSM has the ability to hire, coach, counsel, evaluate, discipline and terminate others. The NSM has the responsibility and authority to assign work, duties and responsibilities, direct staff, and exercise independent judgment. Qualifications
RN license BLS & ACLS NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) Three years acute hospital clinical experience as an RN One year or greater current (within 5 years) experience as charge nurse, relief charge nurse, or nursing management Pay and Employment Details
Pay Range: $44.63 - $70.24 /hour Seniority level
