JMT's Virginia Beach office is seeking a Section Head to lead their CEI Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for business development, financial success, and managing staff for the discipline at the local level.

Responsibilities

Coordinate strategic growth plan with office managers and practice leaders

Establish and grow market presence in area through marketing and business development

Manage financial budget for department and allocate resources accordingly

Lead and contribute to the production of proposals

Serve as a technical expertise resource to project managers and technical staff

Establish resources staffing needs for the section

Interview and hire staff for the section

Perform performance reviews for staff based on input from project managers on assigned teams

Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities

Perform other related duties as assigned

Required Skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Required Experience

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program

10+ years’ experience in specialized discipline

Project management and business development experience

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Qualifications Preferred

Experience working with local VDOT and municipal clients

Project Controls experience

Professional Engineer License or equivalent,

preferred

Supervisory experience

Working Conditions Work is generally performed within a general office environment but may require visits to projects to support field staff. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. Personal protective equipment is required when on a project site.
