Field Survey Technician At David Evans & Associates, Inc., our Surveying and Geomatics team seamlessly merges tradition with cutting‑edge technology. We offer a comprehensive suite of geomatics services—from aerial LiDAR and topographic surveys to construction surveys and BIM modeling—to deliver precision and innovation at every turn.

Location Portland, OR

Responsibilities As a member of a survey crew, you will perform boundary, topography, ALTA, right‑of‑way, and construction surveys for public and private clients. You will operate and maintain survey equipment, take field notes, collect data, perform calculations, and work with DEA staff and clients on all projects. Office duties include reducing survey data, performing calculations, copying, and filing data.

What You Bring

High School Diploma or equivalent

0.5 year of field survey experience

Strong ability to work in a team environment

Strong work ethic and accountability

Clean driving record (no more than 3 accidents/violations in the last 36 months or 2 in the last 12 months)

Preferred Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree

2–3 years’ experience, including boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys, construction staking, and data collection

Trimble Total Station and GPS experience preferred

Proficiency with MS Word and Excel is a plus

Potential salary range: $20.00/hr. - $38.00/hr.

Salary range represents the typical range for this position and is provided in accordance with applicable state and local transparency laws. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
