At Stancil Services, our fleet is the engine that powers our work. Across the company, we rely on over 300 vehicles to deliver the craftsmanship and dependability our customers trust every day.

We’re seeking a Fleet Manager who brings both strategic insight and operational excellence to keep that engine running at peak performance. The Fleet Manager will oversee every aspect of our company-wide fleet—ensuring safety, compliance, and efficiency while driving down costs and maximizing uptime. This individual will play a central role in managing maintenance, registrations, telematics, and vendor partnerships.

Direct reports include the Service Fleet Manager and Fleet Coordinator, with oversight of mechanics and external vendor partners.

Essential Job Functions

Strategic Leadership

Develop and implement comprehensive fleet strategies, including vehicle acquisition, replacement cycles, and lifecycle optimization.

Align fleet operations with company objectives, budget targets, and safety standards.

Drive performance improvements across utilization, uptime, and total cost of ownership (TCO) metrics.

Operational Oversight

Lead daily fleet operations through the Shop Manager and Fleet Coordinator.

Oversee preventive maintenance schedules, repairs, and work orders to maintain >95% PM compliance.

Monitor telematics systems (Samsara, Geotab, and Fleetio) to identify trends in safety, utilization, and driver behavior.

Ensure all vehicles are accounted for, properly maintained, and operational across all divisions.

Compliance & Safety

Ensure full adherence to DOT, OSHA, and EPA regulations.

Maintain accurate documentation, including registrations, insurance, inspections, and DVIRs.

Promote and enforce safety programs focused on accident prevention, driver accountability, and regulatory compliance.

Vendor & Financial Management

Manage vendor contracts and service relationships to ensure cost‑effective, high‑quality performance.

Prepare and manage the annual fleet budget, tracking fuel, maintenance, and lifecycle cost management initiatives.

Reporting & Analytics

Collaborate with internal reporting teams to review dashboards and analyze performance data—no coding required, but strong data literacy is essential.

Identify trends such as underutilization, downtime, and maintenance irregularities.

Prepare reports for executive leadership summarizing fleet KPIs, compliance metrics, and areas for improvement.

Lead monthly review meetings with Operations, Finance, and HR.

People Leadership

Coach and develop the Fleet Coordinator and Shop Manager, fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.

Conduct regular 1:1s and team meetings to maintain operational alignment.

Promote a culture of safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement across all fleet staff.

Partner with HR on staffing, development, and performance management for fleet personnel.

Other related duties as assigned.

Education, Experience And Training

Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of experience managing transportation or fleet operations.

Proven success leading teams in a high‑growth, multi‑location environment.

Advanced proficiency in fleet management software (Samsara, Fleetio, Power BI, or similar).

Experience in Samsara and Geotab is highly preferred.

Strong analytical, budgeting, and vendor negotiation skills.

Comprehensive understanding of DOT, OSHA, and EPA compliance requirements.

Valid Driver’s License (required).

OSHA safety training certification (preferred).

Must be detail‑oriented, curious, and capable of holding others accountable while maintaining a collaborative team environment.

Working Environment and Conditions This position is primarily on‑site, with periodic travel to regional branches and vendor sites. Occasional work outside of standard business hours may be required during emergencies, audits, or special projects. The work environment includes office, warehouse, and mechanic shop settings.
