Building Maintenance Mechanic . This recruitment will serve to fill a vacancy in
Riverside .
The most competitive candidates will have experience with:
Maintaining building structure
Interior/exterior painting
Performing rough and finish carpentry work
Repairing doors, locks and latches
Maintaining HVAC and heating systems
Maintaining sewer and plumbing systems
Schedule:
4/10 or 9/80 options available.
Shift:
2:30pm – 12am, days off may vary.
Location:
9990 County Farm Rd., Riverside, CA 92503.

Responsibilities
Check buildings and equipment to locate needed repairs or maintenance.
Clean and perform routine servicing on boilers, cooling towers, and boiler room equipment.
Operate and service hot water heating systems; install, maintain, and repair plumbing systems; clean out sewer lines.
Analyze water used in air‑conditioning systems and maintain chemical balance.
Service and maintain electrical and mechanical equipment and a variety of appliances; repair doors, gate locks, and latches.
Perform rough and finished carpentry work, including laying, repairing, and maintaining wood and tile flooring; perform interior and exterior painting using brush, roller, or spray gun.
Service air conditioning equipment; use arc and acetylene welding equipment to repair metal equipment.
May occasionally do plastering, grounds maintenance, glazing, masonry, sheet metal, roofing, tile setting, and maintenance of steam heating systems; use a variety of hand and power tools.
Perform preventive maintenance on electrical and mechanical equipment; assist in moving furniture and equipment; determine supplies needed and prepare orders.
May supervise jail trustees or individuals detained in juvenile institutions; may prepare and submit documented incident reports.
Qualifications Experience : Four years of experience in skilled or semi‑skilled building trades work in a non‑manufacturing or non‑assembly environment, including at least three of the following areas: carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, air conditioning, or building plant operation and maintenance.
Other Requirements :
Possession of a valid California Driver License: Class C.
May be required to successfully pass a SLOC: Sheriff's Level One Clearance as part of the background check process.
Knowledge Of
methods, materials, and equipment used in building maintenance and repair work; the operation and repair of plumbing, heating, air conditioning, and electrical systems; safety orders of the Industrial Accident Commission dealing with heating, electrical, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
Ability To : Perform skilled and semi‑skilled work in plumbing, heating, air conditioning, electrical, carpentry, and building plant operations; read and write English at the level necessary for successful job performance; read, interpret, and work from plans, drawings, and specifications; keep records; follow oral and written directions.
