Fleet Safety & Compliance Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated Fleet Safety & Compliance Specialist to join our logistics team in our Dayton, OR nursery. This role is critical in ensuring our local fleet operations are safe, compliant with DOT and company policies, and aligned with our commitment to operational excellence. You will work closely with local fleet coaches and the Director of Logistics to monitor driver behavior, implement safety protocols, and lead ongoing compliance initiatives across regions.

Responsibilities

monitor and enforce compliance with federal, state, and company transportation regulations (FMCSA, DOT, etc.)

participate in monthly safety committee meetings and attend quarterly meetings as part of our overall captive program (pooling our best management safety practices for drivers with other companies)

monitor a safety training program to ensure consistency across all locations

conduct driver safety training and assist with onboarding processes

lead internal audits, vehicle inspections, and documentation reviews

investigate incidents, accidents, and safety violations and coordinate corrective actions

develop and maintain reports and compliance dashboards

support local fleet coaches in managing safety-related coaching and documentation

serve as a resource for up-to-date regulatory guidance and best practices

partner with HR and Logistics to uphold accountability, safety culture, and driver standards

Qualifications

2+ years of experience in transportation safety, fleet operations, or DOT compliance

Strong knowledge of FMCSA/DOT regulations

excellent communication and coaching skills

ability to analyze data and recommend process improvements

proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.)

bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus

valid driver’s license
