Supply Chain Quality Manager-Propulsion

to join our team in

San Diego, California . This role focuses on securing On-Time Delivery and Quality of propulsion systems from US-based suppliers and sub-tiers, interfacing with supplier and Airbus teams to achieve internal delivery targets, assessing supplier production readiness and capacity, and consolidating supplier risk to mitigate issues. This position will be located in San Diego, CA, and will travel by car and plane to Airbus and supplier sites. Base pay range

Primary Responsibilities

Supply Chain and Quality Management: 60% Responsible for On-Time and On-Quality Delivery of supplier propulsion systems: create and manage short-term recovery plans. Interface with primary supplier program, industrial, supply chain, and quality executives and senior management. Analyze supplier value stream and provide feedback on improvement opportunities to de-risk performance to plan. Assess Lean Manufacturing practices and develop improvement plans. Responsible for supplier quality approval and compliance: secure compliance with Airbus Quality Management System (QMS) and industry quality standards; cascade Airbus quality requirements via Quality Assurance Plan, compliance matrix, and Business Quality Review process. Support internal and external audits: lead industrial and product assessments and audits. Establish the supplier surveillance plan and coordinate Airbus involvement to support the supplier and supply chain; ensure surveillance plan addresses audits and assessments for Airbus Production Organization Approval. Ensure workable end-to-end industrial planning and regular review of supplier configurations, multi-sourcing, and transfers of work. Monitor Tier 1 / Tier 2 suppliers in the region: delivery and quality performance, capital expenditure and ramp-up action checks, recovery plans, and remediation of quality notifications; conduct shop floor GEMBA where applicable. Support the Industrial Quarterly Review (IQR) process and capacity assessments; proactively anticipate risks and drive timely actions. Lead multiple complex supplier quality improvement projects with Airbus and supplier senior management. Supplier and Stakeholder Management

Collaborate with Airbus teams across multiple functions and propulsion system suppliers to secure On-Time and On-Quality delivery. Coordinate corrective and preventive actions with propulsion suppliers to meet Airbus targets. Maintain an outlook of key industrial, supply chain, and quality risks and opportunities; drive mitigation plans with suppliers. Organize and support business and executive reviews at Airbus and supplier locations. Communicate supplier status and risks to internal stakeholders. Provide recurring reports, KPIs, and dashboards on progress, risk, and opportunities. Coordinate supply chain activities with regional procurement offices and central Propulsion Operations Procurement teams. Maintain integrated supplier pictures of readiness towards required rates and review Red/Amber statuses during Control Tower and Industrial Reviews. Manage deviations to industrial targets with root-cause and corrective actions to mitigate recurrence; ensure full compliance with all cascade requirements for Airbus PPOA. Lead and close cross-functional improvement projects on time with expected benefits. Keep Airbus and supplier RASCI/Governance documents updated as needed. Document improvements in meeting contractual obligations and feed strategic decisions to align propulsion and aircraft deliveries with Airbus goals. Secure supplier annual performance improvements per agreed target letters. Additional Responsibilities

A Bachelor’s Degree in aerospace or industrial engineering, logistics management, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Ten (10) years of experience in the aerospace or automotive industry in industrial planning, supply chain management, quality management, and continuous improvement required. Knowledge and expertise in Advanced Product Quality Planning, Risk Management, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Six Sigma) required. Experience leading industrial capacity and quality assessments. Significant experience with Google Workspace (Slides, Docs, Sheets, Diagram, Sites). Certified Project Management Professional preferred. Valid driver’s license required. Valid US Passport required. Travel Required

50% Domestic and International Regular domestic travel anticipated between Airbus on-site teams and propulsion partners located on West and East Coasts in North America. This position requires that the job holder be a US Person under ITAR definition (i.e. U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license) Salary

Salary range based on the required profile: $140,000 - $160,000/year. Actual minimum and maximum may vary based on geographic differential. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
