TSMC Arizona’s first fab operates its leading-edge semiconductor process technology (N4 process), starting production in the first half of 2025. The second fab will utilize its leading‑edge N3 and N2 process technology and be operational in 2028. The recently announced third fab will manufacture chips using 2 nm or even more advanced process technology, with production starting by the end of the decade. As a Shift Leader, this role holds the critical responsibility of managing and driving the successful execution of shift Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by ensuring that all operational tasks are carried out efficiently and effectively. This involves assigning tasks to team members based on priorities and competencies, closely monitoring and reviewing their daily work to maintain high standards of performance, and proactively addressing any challenges that may arise during the shift. Additionally, the Shift Leader plays a pivotal role in optimizing workflows, fostering team collaboration, and ensuring alignment with broader operational goals, ultimately contributing to improved productivity, team cohesion, and organizational success.

Responsibilities

Support project management, architecture design, implementation, and operations in one or more of the following areas:

Fab‑related system operation/troubleshooting

Continuous knowledge base establishment

AI‑driven system integration and fully utilizing the given platform

Prompt engagement with fab users to meet business purposes

Follow standard procedures to conduct system changes

Assist continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence.

Conduct research and adopt new IT technologies to enhance productivity.

Collaborate with internal teams and external service providers to address business needs and resolve technical issues.

As a Shift Leader, this role focuses on managing shift KPIs, assigning tasks, reviewing daily work, and ensuring smooth workflow to achieve operational goals.

Education and Experience Associate’s degree from an accredited school in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Network Engineering, Programming and Software Development, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Systems Analysis. Minimum 6 years of experience in related IT role.

Technical Skills

Strong communication skills.

Proficient in SQL at an intermediate or advanced level.

Industry certifications such as Java/Python/JavaScript, LLM, or Machine Learning are preferred.

Expertise in troubleshooting and problem‑solving across diverse IT systems and environments.

Interpersonal Skills

Effective communication and presentation skills.

Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.

Adaptability in fast‑paced and dynamic environments.

Physical Requirements

Must be willing to work on‑site at our Phoenix, Arizona facility.

Need to be able to work night shifts (6 pm to 6 am).

Ability to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.

Ability to kneel, bend, crawl for extended periods.

Occasionally lift or move up to 40 pounds.

Use of computer and office equipment.

Training On‑the‑job training will be provided to familiarize the candidate with company‑specific systems and processes.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in one of the following areas: Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Network Engineering, Programming and Software Development, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Systems Analysis.
