Mechanical Quality Associate – CarMax, Roseville, CA
Under general supervision, the associate performs quality inspections, general service repairs, brake repairs, engine repairs, heating and air conditioning repairs, 4‑wheel alignments, steering and suspension repairs, safety inspections and related diagnostics to support CarMax Mechanical Quality Standards.
Base pay range
$33.00/hr - $50.00/hr

Principle Duties And Responsibilities
General repairs including brake, engine, heating, air conditioning, steering, suspension, and 4‑wheel alignments.
Ensure all vehicles meet CarMax Mechanical Quality Standards.
Drive vehicles to and from various locations as requested by Manager.
Provide outstanding customer service at all times.
Maintain, repair, and clean CarMax provided tools, equipment and shop spaces.
Job Specifications
Read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate records.
Complete all required training, including Kronos Training for Hourly Associates.
Collaborate with associates in other departments within the store.
Perform multiple duties in a high‑energy, fast‑paced environment.
Possess great attention to detail and manual dexterity in both arms and hands.
Speak clearly and listen effectively when dealing with customers and associates, in person and over the phone.
Lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
Monitor shop compliance with CarMax, OSHA, and EPA policies.
Maintain ASE Certifications in Engine Repair (A1), Steering and Suspension (A4), Brakes (A5), Heating & Air Conditioning (A7) as required by state/local law.
Working Conditions
Combination of indoor and outdoor work; may involve noisy or inclement weather.
May require walking or standing for extended periods.
Flexible schedule with shifts that may include nights, weekends and holidays.
Must wear CarMax clothing at all times while in the store.

Full‑time salaried associates have no limit on paid time off, subject to manager approval.
