Job Summary This position will be primarily supporting our engineered-to-order fabrication facility in McGregor, TX, with the potential to evolve into a multi-site leadership role depending on company growth and individual performance. The role requires on-site work at the McGregor site approximately 50% of the time and will involve on-site presence during initial training and development. The Senior Maintenance Manager is a strategic, hands-on leader responsible for driving maintenance excellence and supporting high-impact production goals.
Success in this role requires a highly motivated and results-oriented professional who champions the use of modern maintenance technologies—including AI, IoT sensors, and advanced asset management platforms like MaintainX—to maximize equipment reliability and performance. The manager will lead the development and execution of data-driven preventative and predictive maintenance programs, troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical systems, and oversee maintenance-related projects that improve uptime and operational efficiency.
As the company expands, this role may grow to include oversight of maintenance operations across multiple manufacturing locations, requiring travel and coordination to ensure consistent standards, performance, and innovation across sites.
Tasks & Responsibilities
Foster a culture of safety, continuous improvement and data-driven decision making within the maintenance team.
Lead the adoption and optimization of Maintain-X for all assets.
Grow a robust PM process and maintenance plan that interacts with production and proactively schedules downtime.
Lead the adoption and optimization of AI-driven predictive maintenance strategies for all machinery and critical assets.
Utilize data analytics from AI and IoT platforms to identify trends, optimize maintenance schedules and improve asset reliability and life.
Oversee the deployment, calibration (working with Quality), and data utilization from IoT sensors (e.g., vibration, pressure, temperature, current, acoustic, etc.) on key equipment to monitor performance, predict failures and drive proactive maintenance.
Oversee and lead hands-on repairs, troubleshooting and diagnostics of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems using data to guide the process.
Oversee the maintenance and repair of physical facilities including structures, roofing, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, lighting and grounds.
Manage computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for work orders, spare parts inventory, equipment/asset history and integration with AI/IoT platforms.
Supervise, train and mentor a team of maintenance technicians in both traditional and advanced maintenance techniques including the use of AI/IoT tools and data interpretation.
Conduct performance reviews and identify training needs for the maintenance team while emphasizing new technologies.
Schedule and assign work to the maintenance team, ensuring efficient resource utilization based on predictive insights.
Ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations pertaining to facility operations and maintenance.
Participate in accident investigations and implement corrective actions.
Participate and lead Continuous Improvement/Lean activities.
Champion a strong safety culture within the maintenance team and across the facility.
Ensure all maintenance activities are conducted with strict adherence to company safety policies, OSHA regulations and industry best practices.
Competencies (Preferred)
Excellent problem solving, analytical and critical thinking skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and data analysis tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience with MaintainX or other PM tracking software.
Experience interpreting CAD software applications (e.g., AutoCAD, Inventor) for floor layout designs.
Education & Experience (Preferred)
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering, industrial maintenance, facilities management or a related field, or equivalent practical experience with demonstrated proficiency in advanced maintenance technologies.
Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience with 3-5 years in a leadership role.
Preferred experience in implementing, managing and leveraging AI for predictive maintenance, IoT sensor technology and advanced asset management tools.
Proven experience with maintenance and repair of heavy industrial machinery including overhead cranes, welding equipment, CNC cutting equipment, plate rolling machinery, forklifts, hydraulic and pneumatic systems and industrial electrical systems.
Travel Up to 50% travel.
