Salary:
Level I: $2,373.80 - $2,836.91;
Level II:
$2,495.20 - $2,981.99;
Level III:
$2,956.32 - $3,533.08;
Paid bi-weekly. Written Exam:
Qualified candidates will be notified five days prior to the examination. Examinations: Written Exam (Weighted 100%):
Will be conducted for the purpose of assessing the applicant's knowledge of planning principles and theory; applicable planning and zoning laws, ordinances and regulations; surveying; research methodologies; and, report writing techniques. Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the exam process. This position works within various departments within the County of Kern. Minimum Qualifications/Employment Standards
Bachelor's Degree in Planning or a related field OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to obtain the knowledge and skill to successfully perform the essential duties of the job. Application Materials

Admittance to the examination will require a valid government issued photograph identification. Applicants who are unable to present proper identification must make arrangements with the Human Resources Division prior to the test date. A background check may be conducted for this classification. Following an offer of employment, you may be required to submit to post offer medical and drug screening tests at County expense. Selection and Eligibility
This examination will establish an eligible list from which an immediate appointment(s) will be made at the Planning and Community Development Department. Other permanent and temporary appointments will be made as needed. Successful candidates will remain on the eligible list for a period of twelve months, unless specified otherwise by the Civil Service Commission. Additional Information
