Customer Service Representative – Tennis Warehouse – San Luis Obispo, CA Company:

Salary:

$17.00–$20.00 per hour

Hours:

20 hrs per week, closing shift to 6 pm (Saturday shift required)

Description Sports Warehouse is an e‑commerce company dedicated to a diverse range of sports and recreational products, focusing on tennis, pickleball, and other athletic interests. We seek reliable, personable individuals to build lasting relationships with our Tennis Warehouse customers and support them throughout their purchasing journey via phone, live chat, and email.

Responsibilities

Provide thorough assistance to customers via phone, chat, or email in a friendly, professional, and knowledgeable manner.

Demonstrate active listening skills and maintain a calm demeanor while addressing inquiries.

Resolve customer complaints and issues promptly and professionally.

Utilize email templates for timely responses.

Develop in‑depth product knowledge to address customer needs effectively.

Strive to exceed customer expectations whenever feasible.

Apply problem‑solving skills to achieve satisfactory solutions.

Show flexibility during busy periods and assist coworkers as needed.

Demonstrate the ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.

Continuously learn and develop skills relevant to the position.

Use available resources to locate answers to product questions.

Communicate internally with other departments regarding customer matters.

Carefully and efficiently install strings for racquets according to specifications.

Identify damage or defects in racquets/strings and recommend corrective actions.

Repair or replace accessories as needed.

Requirements

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software quickly.

Additional duties as necessary to support daily operations.

Work Environment & Physical Demands The role is performed in a professional office setting, using computers, tablets, and phones. Tasks may require operating racquet stringing machines and related tools. Physical demands include:

Handling objects, data entry, and operating computers.

Extended periods seated or occasional standing during racquet stringing.

Reaching, bending, twisting, and occasional lifting of objects up to 20 lbs.

Required communication and information exchange in a collaborative environment.
