Overview National litigation law firm is seeking a Litigation Paralegal for its Sherman Oaks office. This firm is the premiere firm for practice areas such as insurance subrogation, products liability, catastrophic loss, and mass tort litigation. This role offers a unique opportunity to build a long‑lasting career with a company that values its employees. Many of the team members have been with the firm for 5, 10, or even 15+ years.

Responsibilities

Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation cases from onset through post‑trial, including calendaring and deadline management for all attorneys in the litigation department.

Conduct legal research and draft legal documents such as pleadings, correspondence, deposition summaries, discovery, and investigative reports.

Organize and manage files, documents, and exhibits for use at depositions, hearings, and trials.

Coordinate and assist in the preparation of case strategy, including the production of witness interviews and deposition preparations.

Communicate with clients, witnesses, court officials, and other parties in person, over the phone, and by written correspondence.

Maintain and update databases and tracking systems responding to discovery requests.

Assist with jury voir‑dire and jury selection, and witness preparation.

Qualifications

A minimum of 5 years of experience as a litigation paralegal with significant experience in trial preparation and proceedings.

Paralegal certification or degree from an accredited college or university.

Proficient in legal research software such as Westlaw or LexisNexis.

Strong understanding of the litigation process, legal terminology, court rules, and procedures.

Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.

Excellent written and oral communication skills.

High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Ability to work independently, manage large volumes of work, and keep detailed records.

Strong problem‑solving skills, analytical ability, and attention to detail.

Experience in electronic document management and e‑discovery tools is a plus.
