The Graphic Designer position is responsible for creating compelling visuals that support marketing campaigns, product launches, internal initiatives, and sales representative requests while maintaining brand consistency for the J+J Flooring Group and EF Contract Flooring commercial brands. The graphic designer will collaborate with the Director of Marketing to translate ideas into impactful visuals.

Responsibilities

Use artistic skills to design various items such as signage, presentation decks, brochures, flyers, invitations, tradeshow materials such as banners and collateral, email blasts, social media graphics, web graphics, etc.

Prepare files optimized for each channel’s requirements (social, web, print)

Maintain and update design files and templates for various marketing projects

Demonstrate attention to detail and strong proofreading skills to ensure accuracy in design elements, typography, and grammar

Write brief copy and headlines for material

Collaborate with the Director of Marketing on social media content ideas and assist in the creation of the content for social media posts

Stay updated with the latest design trends, techniques, creative platforms, and AI technologies such as ChatGPT and SORA

Assist the Director of Marketing with miscellaneous marketing projects

Performance Expectations (if applicable)

Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively

Adapt quickly to change in project requirements and priorities, maintaining a flexible and positive attitude

Must have enthusiasm for the design process and an ability to accept critiques and make necessary adjustments to design as requested

Excellent communication skills (verbally and written), problem solving, and organizational skills

Maintain high level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential data

Experience/Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or related field.

2-4 years of professional design experience

Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and other Adobe CC Apps)

Proficiency in the entire Microsoft Suite of products including PowerPoint and strong skills in Canva

Must understand pixel resolutions and how to convert file formats for both print and web

Must understand how to package art files to provide to print vendors

Other Requirements

Some travel could be required

Lifting is occasionally required for weights up to 50 lbs.

Stooping and/or reaching are required occasionally

Standing and/or walking are required up to 2 hours a day

Computer keyboard entry and computer monitor viewing are required for up to 8 hours daily

Perform other approved duties as directed by leadership

Recommended, Not Required

Knowledge of AI assisted design tools

Knowledge of designing for motion graphics or video

Photography Skills

Copywriting Skills

Submit a portfolio of 10-15 examples of original design works by the applicant. The successful applicant will show a combination of examples. These examples might include, but are not limited to the following:

Brochures or Newsletters

Animation and Motion Graphics

Digital Art

Other art-based media

When applicable, please indicate software used to create as well as the applicant’s role in any collaborative work. The portfolio may be submitted by including a link to a web-based portfolio in the cover letter or may be submitted in a single pdf document uploaded with the application.
