Project Overview
“Soup” is a heartfelt short scene about a father and son struggling to say goodbye. When Brian decides it’s time to move out, a simple bowl of soup becomes a moment of unspoken love, tension, and reflection between generations.
Character Roles Brian Gender: Male Age Range: 25–35
Character Summary:
Brian is preparing to move out of his father’s apartment and start life on his own. Smart and quietly frustrated, he’s torn between independence and guilt. He hides his emotions behind sarcasm and a rush to grow up but still deeply loves his father.
Personality Traits:
Grounded, independent, emotionally repressed but empathetic
Sarcastic humor masking vulnerability
Capable of subtle emotional shifts
Acting Notes:
Actor should convey naturalism—shifting fluidly from frustration to guilt to tenderness. Strong emotional range and realistic delivery are essential.
