Job Summary
Are you passionate about supporting young learners and making a difference in your community? This opportunity connects you with local organizations that serve children and youth through tutoring, mentoring, and enrichment programs. This job is for all majors. Pay: $15/hour Sample Projects You Might Work On: Tutor K–8 students in reading and math during or after school hours Support after-school enrichment programs (STEM, arts, recreation) Assist with family literacy nights and reading circles at local schools Mentor students in social-emotional learning activities Trusted Community Partners You May Be Placed With: Communities In Schools
– supporting academic success (tutoring) in local schools Boys & Girls Clubs
– leading youth development programs YMCA of NWI- leading youth development programs Lutheran School Corporation of Indiana
- supporting academic success (tutoring) The Challenger
- leading youth development programs STEM Hammond Public Library
– tutoring, reading with K-5 students Location
Various school and community sites across NWI When meeting with sites, you can provide preference on locations. Boys and Girls Club Locations (Transportation Required) YMCA Locations (Transportation Required) Communities in Schools Location - look at top 5 on list (Transportation Required) The Challenger on PNW’s Campus Schedule
Flexible shifts available during school hours and after school. Education
Federal Work-Study PNW student enrolled full time Experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills Interest in working with children or youth Dependability and punctuality Patience, creativity, and a positive attitude FLSA Status
