Job Overview
The Sacramento Metro Air District is seeking a highly organized, professional Office Assistant to support in‑office operations within the Administrative Services Division. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient day‑to‑day operations as part of a collaborative front office team that includes another Office Assistant and an Administrative Assistant. Responsibilities
Provide customer service by greeting and assisting customers. Answer phones and manage inbound and outbound communications. Process incoming and outgoing mail, invoices, and purchasing requests. Handle accounts receivable tasks and coordinate building or fleet service requests. Arrange travel, reserve accommodations, and prepare conference/workshop attendance documentation. Schedule meetings, appointments, and make room arrangements. Process petty cash reimbursements and perform general clerical support duties such as filing, typing, and using word‑processing software. Qualifications
One year of general clerical experience or equivalent training and experience is required for Office Assistant I. Office Assistant II requires one year of experience as an Office Assistant I or two years of typing and general clerical experience. Knowledge & Skills
Both classes: Telephone and office receptionist etiquette; basic English grammar, spelling, usage, and punctuation; alphanumeric filing and retrieval systems; office methods and clerical record‑keeping procedures. Office Assistant II: District procedures and operations. Special Requirements
Possession of a valid Class C California driver’s license and an acceptable driving record is required. Physical Demands
This is essentially a desk job. Physical demands include occasional lifting up to 25 lbs., some bending, stooping, and squatting. Working Conditions
Generally clean work environment with limited exposure to conditions such as dust, fumes, odors, or noise. Computer monitor used on a daily basis. Application Process
