Global Refuge Overview The RSI Program Coordinator is responsible for providing academic support and wraparound services to kindergarten through 12th-grade refugee clients, ensuring their success and well-being through the RSI program. The RSI Program Coordinator will supervise program staff, oversee daily operations, and ensure that performance goals are met. This includes tracking and approving timesheets, conducting performance evaluations, and addressing performance concerns as needed. The role also facilitates case management, advocates for clients within local school systems, and works to enhance academic performance and social integration of refugee students. A key aspect is working with local school staff to identify challenges, especially for students whose primary language may hinder access to academic support services. Responsibilities Supervise Program staff and monitor daily work activities. Track and approve timesheets and time off requests. Conduct performance evaluations and document performance concerns. Oversee the implementation of the RSI program in San Antonio and surrounding areas in alignment with program guidelines and Global Refuge standards. Develop and execute an outreach plan for RSI, including public speaking engagements to promote the program as needed. Adapt and create program materials such as handbooks, case file materials, evaluation documents, and standard operating procedures to ensure high-quality program delivery. Maintain electronic and hard case files in compliance with contract requirements. Conduct quality assurance activities, including case file reviews. Ensure timely and accurate completion of all program reports and data collection. Track and report on program performance, client outcomes, and any compliance issues per program requirements. Provide oversight of client-centered, trauma-informed, culturally- and linguistically-appropriate RSI services to enrolled participants. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with local school districts and other community partners. Coordinate with local school staff to identify needs and challenges faced by students. Develop and implement tutoring curriculum in collaboration with school staff. Implement after school tutoring programs for target student groups. Facilitate interpretation and advocacy for clients during parent/teacher conferences. Build parents' ability to navigate the school system and increase communication with teachers and school leadership. Facilitate family engagement and integration into the school community life. Screen for mental health concerns and facilitate referrals to mental health services. Collaborate with RSI staff to implement Spring Break and summer programming. Coordinate program spending with Manager for Field Operations and accounting team. Advise and communicate with the Manager for Field Operations on any program implementation issues, program progress, client updates, and outcomes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in education, social work, or a related field required. Master's degree in Education, Social Work, or a related field preferred. Minimum of one year of experience in refugee services, education, or social services. Familiarity with K-12 education systems, particularly in supporting refugee and immigrant students, is preferred. Fluency in at least one of the following languages is highly preferred: Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Burmese, Pashto/Farsi/Dari, Spanish, or other languages spoken by the client population. Strong initiative and entrepreneurial skills. Strong organizational and leadership skills, with experience in program management and staff supervision. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with SharePoint and Dynamics preferred. Experience in education, volunteer coordination, and/or youth services is desirable. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and organize in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work with students from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle. Availability to frequently work non-traditional hours, in after school settings, as well as occasional weekend events.
