The International Rescue Committee (IRC) responds to humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic wellbeing, and power to people affected by conflict and disaster. IRC operates in more than 40 countries and 29 U.S. cities. This role supports school-age children, their families, and schools through educational and enrichment programming, partnerships, staff development, and program management. Responsibilities

Coordinate and oversee delivery of youth and education programming, including parent engagement, tutoring, social-emotional well-being activities, after-school programs, and summer enrichment. Collaborate with schools and community partners to deliver professional development training for educators on supporting refugee and immigrant students. Ensure participant eligibility and implement monitoring and evaluation structures to assess program quality and outcomes. Maintain compliance with grant requirements and reporting standards, communicating progress with leadership. Supervise Youth Education Specialists and interns, providing coaching, training, performance management, and professional development. Develop and maintain relationships with schools, community partners, and families; conduct outreach to recruit participants and raise program visibility. Participate in IRC’s national Education & Youth network to share resources, track program data, and support collaborative initiatives. Assist in program development, resource creation, and grant proposal writing to sustain and grow youth services. Uphold safeguarding, safety, and child protection standards across all youth programming. Perform other related duties as assigned. Education and Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in education, social work, or related field. Work Experience

2–5 years of experience in children’s or youth programs, education, or social services. Experience supervising staff or volunteers required. Experience with refugee/immigrant or cross-cultural work preferred. Demonstrated Skills and Competencies

Strong knowledge of youth program quality standards, including content design, safety, and safeguarding. Experience delivering training or professional development; knowledge of adult learning principles. Proficiency in program documentation, data tracking, and reporting. Strong organizational, multitasking, and time-management skills. Excellent cross-cultural communication skills; ability to work effectively with diverse families and limited English proficiency speakers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams). Leadership skills reflecting IRC values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality. Language Skills

Fluency in English required; bilingual ability in a language spoken by local refugee populations strongly preferred. Certificates or Licenses

Valid driver’s license, active insurance, and reliable transportation. Must possess or be eligible to receive a Level 1 fingerprint clearance card (per Arizona state law). Working Environment

A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and field time within the service delivery area. May require occasional weekend and/or evening work. Must be able to lift 35 to 50 pounds (furniture, household supplies, and food boxes). Standard work week with some evening or weekend hours for community or partner events. Compensation

Pay Range: $24.24 - $25.74. Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates and depend on factors such as location, experience, and budget. Equal Opportunity Employer
