About the Department/College The Department of Civil Engineering, Construction Management and Environmental Engineering (CECMEE) within the Steve Sanghi College of Engineering is comprised of twenty-one full-time faculty. We provide students with a well‑rounded, personalized education in civil engineering, environmental engineering, and construction management, emphasizing the production of baccalaureate students fully prepared for professional practice upon graduation. Our mission is “to create the next generation of ethical, work‑ready, high‑performance construction, civil and environmental engineering professionals.”

About the Position The Department of Civil Engineering, Construction Management, and Environmental Engineering (CECMEE) in the Steve Sanghi College of Engineering (SCE) invites applications for a Part Time Faculty position in the Construction Management (CM) Program. We seek candidates who have a passion for teaching along with relevant education and industry experience. The primary duties will be in-person, remote, or hybrid classroom teaching of undergraduate courses which may include disciplinary areas of construction management, civil engineering, architecture, or related fields.

Responsibilities

Teaching undergraduate level courses, delivering exams, supervising students, and grading student work.

Providing instructional support and curriculum development as required.

Participating in department meetings and academic service activities.

Minimum Qualifications

M.S. in construction management, architecture, business administration, or civil engineering.

B.S. in construction management, architecture, civil engineering, or related field.

5+ years of engineering or construction management experience.

A combination of related education, experience, and training may be used as an equivalent to the above Minimum Qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications

Demonstrated evidence of teaching effectiveness.

Ph.D. or EdD.

Registered Professional Engineering (P.E.) or other professional certifications.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Advanced knowledge in Construction Management or related areas.

Effective teaching ability at undergraduate level.

Curriculum development skills.

Capacity to inspire and manage undergraduate students.

Ability to work well independently and in a team.

Efficient communication of highly technical content to diverse audiences.

Compensation Anticipated compensation is $2,000 per credit unit or $6,000 per three-credit course, commensurate with candidate’s qualifications and related experience.
