Overview
The Management Department in the College of Business and Economics at Cal State LA is seeking applications for a pool of part-time faculty lecturers with positions available as needed during the 2025-2026 academic year. Appointments are typically for one semester, and may be renewed based on department needs and funding.
Position Details Instructional Faculty – Part-time Temporary/Lecturer Pool. Hires from the pool occur when there are instructional needs to fill coursework offered by the department, based on enrollment patterns and other factors. Initial appointments are typically for one semester; some initial appointments may cover an academic year. Appointments may be made on short notice.
Duties
Teach assigned courses; prepare and organize class materials; grade; and provide office hours.
Other duties as assigned based on departmental needs. Course assignments (dates, times, and modality) are determined by the Department Chair under the direction of the College Dean.
Minimum Qualifications
MBA or MS in a management-related field from an accredited institution; required at time of employment.
Industry or relevant professional experience; commitment to ongoing professional practice for continued employment.
Ability to teach in a multicultural, multiethnic campus environment with evidence of high teaching effectiveness.
Ability to relate well to others in an academic environment; ability and/or interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural environment.
Demonstrated experience and commitment to student-centered learning; proficiency in written and spoken English.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working with diverse populations and fostering an inclusive, collaborative environment.
Relevant work experience and training.
Doctoral or terminal degree is preferred.
Salary Initial salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. The salary schedule for lecturers is presented as ranges; typical ranges include Lecturer A: $5,507–$6,677; Lecturer B: $6,221–$13,224; Lecturer C: $6,825–$14,523; Lecturer D: $8,593–$15,211. The anticipated monthly hiring range is generally at or near the minimum of the appropriate range, commensurate with qualifications and experience; most new faculty lecturers are hired at Lecturer A or B.
