I. General Description:
To support students and staff in maintaining appropriate activities and environment to facilitate effective learning. The paraprofessional may work in general education and/or exceptional student classrooms. Roles may include: Interventionist Alternative Classroom Placement (ACP) Library Assistant Student/Cluster Specific II. Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent Successful completion of para educator assessment, 60 college credits (100 level or higher), or an Associate's degree Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance card General clerical experience (preferred) Ability to push, pull, or lift at least 30 pounds Proficiency in English (verbal and written) First Aid and CPR certification (can be obtained through the district) III. Duties and Responsibilities for All Paraprofessionals
Assist in lesson planning and execution Conduct learning exercises with students Guide children in social interactions Alert teachers to individual student needs Provide escort and assistance to students Supervise children in various settings Maintain neatness of work and study areas Prepare educational materials Attend in-service training Administer assessments and tutor students Maintain records and files Perform other related duties as assigned IV. Additional Duties for Library Assistant
Manage library materials and displays Assist with procurement and inventory Inform about overdue books and perform repairs Collaborate on material selection for units/projects Ensure smooth library operation Reports To:
Classroom Teacher and/or Administration Terms of Employment:
10 Months, 29.5 hours/week Application Requirements:
