Social Worker III - In-Home Services Location:

Randolph County, NC

Sign‑on bonus:

$2000–$4000 depending on position and qualifications.

Role overview:

Advanced, professional‑level casework providing protective, investigative, counseling and case‑management services for children at risk of neglect and/or abuse and/or dependency. Responsibilities include:

Provide social work services including treatment and immediate response to crisis situations for at‑risk children in complex cases.

Investigate and/or assess alleged abuse, neglect, or dependency and substantiate allegations per federal and state guidelines.

Provide expert testimony in court hearings and follow‑up with case management and preventive services for clients.

Analyze situations and determine appropriate courses of action immediately or in short time spans, often under very stressful conditions.

Conduct investigations and assessments within the timeframes defined by NC General Statutes and CPS policy manuals.

Document all contacts with children, parents, and collateral contacts, using agency methods and software per policy.

Maintain cases until transfer or closure, including making sure all required contacts are completed.

In cases where children are at immediate risk, petition the court for temporary custody and arrange placement in a licensed foster home or approved relative placement.

Manage caseloads that may include investigative and in‑home case management functions depending on agency needs.

Provide in‑home services in group, family, or individual settings to clients of any age with complex developmental, mental, medical, financial, or substance abuse issues.

Track and report status of assigned cases, submit statistical reports, provide court reports and expert testimony as required.

Attend to regular attendance and punctuality requirements and ensure child protective services are delivered timely.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work; or

Bachelor's degree in Social Work from an accredited school of social work and completion of the Child Welfare Collaborative (Child Welfare positions only);

Bachelor's degree in Social Work with one year of directly related experience; or

Master's degree in counseling in a human services field and one year of social work or counseling; or

Bachelor's degree in a human services field with two years directly related experience; or

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with three years of directly related experience.
