Junior Swim Coach (Part-Time)

We are seeking a Junior Swim Coach to join the Aquatics team at the Greendale Family Branch YMCA. As a current member of the Stingray Swim Team, you will have excellent communication skills and enjoy coaching other swimmers.
Under the direction of the Head Coaches and Assistant Coaches, the Junior Swim Coach is responsible for the development of younger swimmers, actively coaching during set practices, and maintaining a supportive, positive atmosphere that welcomes and respects all individuals.
Essential Functions
Attend scheduled meetings, swim meets, registration night, and parent meetings as specified by the Head Coach. Work alongside other coaches to maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment for swim team participants. Assist in planning, preparing, and conducting team practices as directed by the Head Coach. Actively assist in coaching swimmers in competitive training to improve stroke technique and improve swimmers’ competitive swim times. Observe all safety and operational requirements of YMCA facilities. Develop strong team building qualities through demonstrated leadership and commitment to the mission and goals of the YMCA. Qualifications
Must be at least 16 years old Current certification in American Red Cross Lifeguarding (including Deep-Water) Current certification in American Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and AED. Must be a current swimmer on the Stingray Swim Team. Must stay on the Stingray Swim Team and actively participate in practice and meets as a participant of the team. This is a part-time position, with a schedule of weekdays from 6:00pm-9:00pm, and a pay rate of $15.00 an hour.
