Job Summary Are you a solutions-based sales professional focused on building long‑term relationships? CCFS is seeking a Senior Business Development Representative to join a self‑motivated, results‑driven sales team. The role pursues new sales opportunities and maintains current accounts within an assigned territory, providing freight solutions to achieve universal prosperity.
Essential Job Duties
Identify leads, call prospective customers, and manage partnerships within an assigned territory to meet sales targets.
Gain the trust and respect of customer decision makers by applying logistics expertise to anticipate and solve transportation challenges.
Develop mutually beneficial relationships with customers, including multiple points of contact between CCFS and the customer.
Learn the customer’s business, competitive area, transportation needs, and selection process and serve as an expert advisor.
Communicate CCFS' value propositions to existing and prospective customers.
Close new business deals by developing and negotiating contracts and integrating requirements with operations.
Create a positive and productive work atmosphere by communicating and behaving professionally with all employees.
Communicate with customers regularly to ensure their needs are being met and work closely with operations to meet CCFS and customer needs.
Communicate customer issues and opportunities with appropriate team members to resolve conflict.
Strategize with other departments to develop and conduct annual contract reviews and negotiate implementation with customers.
Utilize CCFS supplied tools, analyze data, and track account sales activity to organize and efficiently manage territory.
Utilize Salesforce to direct daily activities, manage pipeline progress, and share information with team members and managers.
Integrate with sales team members, sharing strategies, techniques, and quality opportunities for other territories.
Communicate between all relevant functions and departments to keep them aware of market conditions and customer knowledge.
Manage expenses, contribute to the CCFS mission, and complete expense/mileage reports in a timely manner.
Minimum Requirements
5+ years of experience in sales or a relevant industry.
Self‑motivated and results‑driven.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication (written and verbal), analytical, and decision‑making skills.
High level of cognitive and emotional intelligence.
Ability to gain a strong understanding of:
CCFS markets, contracts, pricing publications, and competitors.
CCFS infrastructure and operating characteristics.
CCFS information and reporting systems.
Interline partner systems, capabilities and procedures.
Transportation industry behavior, including CCFS pricing mechanisms and costing systems.
