Assembly Production Worker – 1st Shift

Harlan, Iowa
Salary:
up to $20/hour
Job Summary:
The production employee will work in the assembly area, performing quality work according to engineering blueprints, work orders, and quick quote sheets. Responsibilities include assembling, inspecting, and maintaining parts and equipment while ensuring compliance with company quality and safety standards.
Responsibilities
Perform hand assembly; read tape measures, dial calipers, and use a weight/count scale.
Work with machines, power tools, and hand tools to assemble, repair, and produce parts.
Maintain accurate records and perform daily preventative maintenance on power tools and equipment.
Keep equipment and work area clean, orderly, and in proper condition.
Detect & report improper operations, faulty equipment, defective materials, or unusual conditions to supervisor.
Inspect visually and physically the product, raw material, and purchased material to ensure quality.
Select parts and materials with proper identification per engineering blueprint, work order process sheet, & quick quote sheets.
Accurately count and identify materials or parts in designated work cells to prevent damage and injury.
Perform a final inspection of the first completed part or product before advancing the work order.
Ensure proper stacking of finished product with accurate identification and location.
Qualifications
Experience with hand and power tools.
Experience working in a team environment.
Experience operating machines.
Blue‑print reading skills a plus.
High‑school diploma, GED, or equivalent education/experience; one to three months related experience or training also acceptable.
