Overview

The Operational Excellence Manager is responsible for leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to improve plant performance. They analyze existing processes, identify areas for improvement, and lead kaizen activities to optimize operations and increase efficiency. This position will report to the Plant Manager and work closely with all departments to drive alignment, gain support, train personnel, and implement improvement initiatives that build a lean culture. Responsibilities

Implementing Lean / World Class Manufacturing (WCM) principles and practices to minimize all forms of waste Facilitate development of a Shakopee plant continuous improvement strategy and roadmap, and lead the site team through its execution Train personnel on Lean methodologies and techniques to drive results and KPIs Lead Kaizen events for continuous improvement, with the ability to employ more advanced lean and statistical methods as required Manage the facility’s Loss Analysis / Cost Deployment process Set priorities for Process Engineering, improving efficiencies and process controls Serve as 5S Plant Champion & support 5S throughout the facility Interact with plant and corporate personnel to secure appropriate resources to plan and implement projects Collaborate with site Training team to develop and maintain standard work instructions, One Point Lessons, training procedures, manuals, and training documentation for operator proficiency program for all positions Support Operations with employee training Carry out advanced data collection and analysis for process mapping, time studies, and job evaluation Support the integration of a formal problem solving system Ability to travel as required (up to 20%) Fosters best practice sharing across the site Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering or equivalent experience Five (5) or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred) Strong change management skills to include the implementation of Lean Manufacturing principles and concepts Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written), problem solving and analytical skills Ability to organize and plan use of time and people effectively and efficiently, with the ability to function, multi-task, and influence others in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Problem solving and analytical skills; Six Sigma experience is a plus Training and experience in Lean manufacturing principles and Kaizen facilitation Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel/Word/PowerPoint/Outlook Benefits

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus with a target of 12% of base salary.
