About the Role

The Maintenance Lead is responsible for managing the work flow and supervising other maintenance technicians. Duties include assigning and managing work related to insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; inspecting and repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing new equipment; and updating facility infrastructure for a highly automated 575k sq. ft. fulfillment center. A successful Maintenance Lead is a motivational leader who engages the team and business partners to achieve high performance, safety, quality, and attendance. The position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is based on-site in our Belton, MO fulfillment center. What You’ll Be Doing

Act as the senior maintenance leader at the facility in the absence of the Maintenance Manager Track and assign daily maintenance and facility preventative maintenance inspections and repairs Investigate and dispatch actions to correct all problem calls for facility and distribution equipment Perform scheduled and daily maintenance on distribution equipment (e.g., forklifts, material handling equipment, conveyors, conveyor support equipment) to ensure machines run smoothly and buildings operate efficiently Perform scheduled and daily maintenance on facility equipment (e.g., HVAC, lighting, electrical, plumbing) Perform building maintenance such as painting, drywall patching, light construction, etc. Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors for testing, maintenance, and repairs of fire systems and other regulated systems Help manage third-party vendors and contractors Ensure proper handling of distribution equipment regarding OSHA and safety requirements, hazardous materials, and company policies and emergency procedures Prepare department documentation (e.g., work logs, equipment check sheets, preventive maintenance documentation) Communicate major problems and inoperable equipment information to the Senior Director of Operations, facility partners, and vendors Oversee completed work and/or assignments of other maintenance associates Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand and power tools Inspect drives, motors, belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions per manufacturer guidelines Assemble, install or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, and equipment Install, replace, or change machine parts and attachments per manufacturer specifications Collaborate with staff to repair or move machines or equipment Analyze test results and machine error messages to diagnose problems Perform other duties as assigned What We Are Looking For

High school diploma or GED. An associate degree or completion of an approved apprentice program in industrial maintenance, automated manufacturing technology, HVAC or equivalent is desired 5 to 7 years of experience performing mechanical and electrical repairs in an industrial environment, specifically in a highly automated environment 2 years’ experience as a lead mechanic with responsibilities for leading other mechanics Proven troubleshooting skills with ability to perform mechanical and preventive maintenance on buildings, HVAC, and material handling equipment (e.g., conveyors, forklifts, order pickers, turret trucks, pallet racking) Strong electrical troubleshooting and installation experience desired PLC/WCS programming and troubleshooting experience desired Basic PC skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google products Ability to work on-call to support operational needs Physical Job Demands
