Responsibilities The General Manager is responsible for running a profitable restaurant and ensuring that the restaurant meets McDonald’s critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. The General Manager works with his/her leader to set the restaurant’s goals and creates a plan to achieve them. To meet restaurant goals, the General Manager leads a team of Department Managers, helping them set their own targets, tracking progress, and providing coaching and guidance to improve their departments. By improving the departments, the restaurant improves.

The General Manager may also be responsible for hiring and developing Department and Shift Managers to ensure the restaurant has the right team to lead into the future.

The Guest Service Department Manager ensures customers receive a fast, accurate, friendly experience; oversees front counter and drive‑thru operations; manages training and promotions; and organizes the time of service staff.

The Kitchen Department Manager guarantees the restaurant delivers high‑quality food quickly and safely, controls food cost, and trains kitchen staff on production procedures.

The People Department Manager handles recruitment, training, scheduling, and employee motivation to meet sales and profit goals.

Qualifications Ideal candidates should have previous General Manager experience running high‑volume locations. A background in quick‑service restaurants is strongly desired, or experience in hospitality or retail. You must be 18 years or older to manage a corporate‑owned or operated restaurant.

Positive, flexible team players who thrive in fast‑paced environments are preferred. Experience with supervising diverse teams and a passion for delivering consistent service are essential.
