About the Company
A well-established heavy civil and underground utility contractor specializing in public works and private infrastructure projects. The company is expanding into the Downtown Los Angeles and Orange County markets, targeting $30–50 million in new project volume over the next few years.
The Project Manager will oversee multiple infrastructure and site development projects from pre-construction through closeout. This position will be based out of the Buena Park office and will require a mix of office-based leadership and on-site coordination.
About the Role The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience in underground utilities, asphalt paving, excavation, street improvement, or site preparation, with a proven ability to manage teams, budgets, and client relationships effectively.
Responsibilities
Manage all phases of assigned construction projects, including scheduling, cost control, safety, and quality assurance
Direct field and office teams to ensure timely and successful project delivery
Oversee subcontractor performance, contracts, and change orders
Conduct project meetings and maintain detailed progress reporting
Partner with estimating and preconstruction teams on bids, scopes, and value engineering
Build and maintain strong client, agency, and vendor relationships
Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations
Qualifications
7+ years of progressive experience in civil construction or related field
Strong background in underground utilities, paving, or heavy civil projects
Proven leadership in managing multiple field crews and project budgets
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Proficient in project management and scheduling software (e.g., HeavyJob, P6, MS Project, or similar)
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or equivalent experience preferred
