What You Can Expect To Work On
Supervises daily operations of the linear particle accelerator, ensuring reliable and efficient production of Actinium‑225
Monitors accelerator performance, troubleshoots operational issues, and coordinates with maintenance teams to minimize downtime
Ensures adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and maintains accurate production logs and documentation
Enforces strict adherence to radiation safety protocols, ensuring compliance with all local, national, and international regulations (e.g., NRC, IAEA, FDA)
Conducts regular safety audits and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions as needed
Monitors production processes to maintain consistency and compliance with downstream Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
Reviews and analyzes production data to identify trends and implement process improvements and testing, while mentoring team members and driving continuous improvement
Sets KPIs for the accelerator operations group, communicates key program updates, and drives improvements in quality, safety, and productivity to ensure KPIs are met
Provides regular updates to senior management on production metrics, operational challenges, and safety performance
Identifies opportunities to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve isotope production processes
Stays updated on advancements in accelerator technology, radioisotope production, and industry best practices
Leads and inspires a diverse team of skilled professionals
Ensures the onboarding, training, and career development of staff members
Fosters a culture of respect, safety, quality, and continuous improvement aligning with the mission, vision, and values of the organization

B.S. in engineering or related field or equivalent industry experience or equivalent formal education and hands‑on experience
5+ years of progressive positions in accelerator operations
3+ years of supervisory experience including day‑to‑day activities of a team of 6 or more with demonstrated ability to build cohesive teams, establish career development tracks, and succession planning
Analytical and problem‑solving skills; excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills
Organizational and project management skills for self and teams
Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while meeting deadlines
Proven ability to lead and develop staff and teams
Expertly performs in a team‑oriented, collaborative environment
Strategic thinking and ability to balance short‑term needs with long‑term business evolution
Great to have
M.S. in engineering or related field or equivalent industry experience
8+ years of accelerator experience
Hands‑on experience utilizing lean manufacturing principles for continuous process improvements (Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, 5S).
5+ years of supervisory experience including day‑to‑day activities of a team of 5 or more with demonstrated ability to build cohesive teams, establish career development tracks, and succession planning

Full‑time position
Company’s standard operating hours are Monday thru Friday 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. with production related activities requiring 24/7/365 shifts
This position will be assigned to working hours that correspond with shift rotations that require 24/7/365 coverage
Niowave has multiple locations within the Lansing area and travel between locations is expected in the role
