Waukegan Community Unit School District No. 60 serves nearly 15,500 students in preschool through grade 12 and is located halfway between Chicago, Illinois and Milwaukee, Wisconsin on the shores of Lake Michigan. The District has one early learning center, 15 elementary schools, five middle schools and a high school program divided between two 9th–12th grade campuses. What We Need
Under the direction of the Associate Superintendent of Information Technology Services, the Data and Reporting Specialist will report to the Manager of Applications and Data Analytics to manage the Student Information System and ERP system, and provide support for multiple District data systems and platforms. The role performs basic problem determination, resolution support, and data reporting to ensure a reliable production environment. Responsibilities
Learn and maintain ERP system custom reporting schema and data security. Maintain and support the District’s database schemas. Work closely with the ITS Data Team to maintain and support the Student Information System and other cloud‑based systems. Maintain a thorough knowledge and skill set for utilizing the Student Information System and other platforms used in the District. Provide technical assistance, advice, and support through the district helpdesk system for system troubleshooting and data reporting. Extract, organize, and prepare data and reports for the ITS data team, other departments, and building needs. Work closely with school office personnel and administration regarding the utilization of systems and data. Collaborate with the Manager of Applications and Data Analytics to integrate and align data sources with systems and software. Collaborate with the Academic Department for the successful integration of the Student Information System with instructional technology platforms. Fulfill other duties as assigned by the department supervisor or Director of Information Technology. Maintain and demonstrate high standards of accuracy and integrity in all areas of data input and management. Ensure security and confidentiality of all District data. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Computer Science or Information Technology). Five (5) years related experience. Experience with TSQL, Microsoft SQL Studio Suite (SSIS, SSRS). 1–2 years experience with ERP system (HR and financials). Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel spreadsheets to manipulate data. Experience using a business intelligence tool is a plus. Work Environment
