The Kitsap Recovery Center is seeking a Substance Use Disorder Professional or Trainee. Kitsap Recovery Center provides both inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment services. KRC is state-approved and utilizes the American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) treatment criteria. The facility houses 24 inpatient treatment beds and 12 sub-acute detoxification beds. Employees include treatment staff, administrative support staff and two private consultants contracted to provide medical and dietary advice and assistance. Annually, approximately 2,000 adult men and women receive substance usage disorder treatment for drug and/or alcohol addiction. KRC serves primarily low-income and Medicaid-eligible clients. It also accepts clients with private insurance and provides information, education and referrals to all county residents. The mission of Kitsap Recovery Center is to promote healthy lifestyles and communities through superior, responsive, cost-effective substance usage disorder treatment services leading to improved quality of life for those involved in or affected by substance usage. This is specialized work in the field of substance usage disorder treatment services. The incumbent is responsible for providing individual, group and family counseling for persons dealing with alcohol and drug related problems, conducting educational classes and lectures to participants, assisting with the administration of the UA testing process, conducting intake assessments and maintaining required paperwork per program policies and procedures and Washington Administrative Code requirements, as well as maintaining records and documents in support of programs and services administered by the Kitsap Recovery Center, maintaining professional standards, including adhering to Kitsap Recovery Center Ethical Standards, following the treatment policies and procedures of the Kitsap Recovery Center, and complying with Federal, State and local regulations. If hired as a trainee, this position will be a training position in accordance with the standards of Washington Administrative Code 246.811. While in the training program under the direct supervision of a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP), the incumbent is required to spend a significant period of time in consultation with the trainer. Upon successful completion of the training program, and registration as a SUDP in the State of Washington, and upon the recommendation of the Clinical Manager, the incumbent may be promoted to SUDP without additional selection procedures. Work as a SUDP/T is performed under close supervision, and the employee will have limited independence and latitude to apply judgment and initiative. These limitations will be required until the incumbent demonstrates the ability to understand and apply judgment within the guidelines of accepted substance usage disorder counseling practices and the policies and procedures of the Kitsap Recovery Center. Work is inspected and reviewed frequently, and assignments are made to assure the proscribed training program is completed successfully. Qualifications For Performance Of The Essential Functions Must be a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP), registered in good standing with the Washington State Department of Health, with six months case management experience in a substance usage disorder, mental or behavioral health treatment environment. Six months Substance Use Disorder Professional Trainee (SUDPT) experience as an employee of Kitsap Recovery Center will be accepted as equivalent to the required six months case management experience. SUDPT applicants must have completed all educational requirements towards advancement and attainment of the Washington State Substance Use
