Caterpillar is seeking a Logistics Manager in North Little Rock, AR. In this role you will define the strategy and lead the execution of an on‑site logistics and inventory control team. You will oversee People, Quality, Velocity, and Cost (PQVC) within the logistics and inventory space, ensuring operational excellence and alignment with broader supply chain objectives. You will partner closely with Logistics Planning, Operations, Supply Chain Planning, and Manufacturing Engineering to integrate planning into execution and drive continuous improvement across material flow and inventory processes.

This role requires strong analytical skills, including proficiency in advanced Excel, Power BI, and other data visualization tools. A high preference is placed on candidates with deep logistics business acumen and a strong understanding of logistics systems such as WMS, SAP, EWM, ASRS, AMRs, and related automation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Operational Leadership

– Define and execute logistics and inventory strategies that support enterprise supply chain goals. Lead execution teams to deliver high‑performance outcomes across material movement, storage, and inventory control. Collaborate with Logistics Planning to translate strategic plans into effective execution.

People, Quality, Velocity, and Cost Ownership

– Own and drive performance across PQVC metrics, ensuring safe operations, high‑quality standards, efficient throughput, and cost‑effective execution. Develop and monitor KPIs to assess and improve operational performance, safety culture, and employee engagement.

Inventory Control & Compliance

– Oversee inventory processes including reconciliation, audit, replenishment, and accuracy. Ensure compliance with ISO standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.

Team Management

– Lead and develop a team of 5–8 managers responsible for logistics execution and inventory control. Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous development.

Process Optimization & Technology Enablement

– Analyze logistics and inventory workflows to identify inefficiencies and implement best practices. Leverage digital tools and automation (e.g., ASRS, AMRs) to improve material flow and reduce operational costs. Apply 5S principles to maintain organized, efficient, and safe work environments.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

– Partner with Operations, Supply Chain Planning, HR, Safety, and Manufacturing Engineering to align logistics strategies with business needs and support cross‑functional initiatives. Act as a key stakeholder in projects impacting material movement, inventory visibility, and customer satisfaction.

Systems & Analytics

– Utilize WMS, SAP, EWM, and other logistics systems to manage and optimize operations. Apply advanced Excel, Power BI, and other analytical tools to drive data‑based decision‑making and performance insights.

Certifications & Standards

– Promote and enforce adherence to safety and quality standards across all logistics activities. ASCM CLTD Certification (Certified in Logistics, Transportation and Distribution) highly desired.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, or a related technical discipline.

Cross‑functional experience in IT, Purchasing, Assembly, Fabrication, Engineering, or Quality.

APICS CPIM or CSPC National Certification.

Proven track record of leading large‑scale logistics or supply chain transformation initiatives.

Progressive experience in Assembly, Fabrications, Paint, Logistics, Material Planning, or Supply Chain within a high‑velocity manufacturing environment.

Demonstrated leadership experience, including direct supervision and development of teams.

Proficiency in Glovia and Microsoft Office/Office 365 tools.

Additional Information The primary location for this position is North Little Rock, AR.

Summary Pay Range $126,000.00 – $189,000.00
