Job Description The Supplier Performance Manager (SPM) is in charge of a portfolio of North American suppliers (on average 10). The overall responsibility is to manage the execution of the contract between the suppliers and Safran Aircraft Engines and to ensure that they deliver at a satisfactory level of performance; more specifically deliver products on time in accordance with the quality requirements and a target price.

Key Responsibilities 1.1. Measuring and communicating performance

Measure the performance of suppliers in the portfolio.

Communicate performance formally to suppliers and internal team.

Broadcast regular performance score‑cards.

Ensure that management, especially at the supplier, is aware of performance issues.

Link supplier performance to contractual obligations and calculate penalties or claim when applicable.

Implement relevant logistic and quality KPIs with suppliers to anticipate performance problems.

1.2. Recovering nonperformance

Lead and coordinate actions to recover supplier performance to expected levels.

Visit suppliers frequently to support performance recovery efforts.

Characterize the consequences of supplier performance to the downstream supply chain (including Safran assembly line and customers).

Define, with supplier and Safran team, an action plan to contain and recover nonperformance.

Use contracts to incentivize suppliers to promptly recover and manage the claim process when relevant.

1.3. Assessing and preventing risks of non-performance

Identify and mitigate risks that suppliers may fail to perform at expected levels.

Lead regular risk analysis with suppliers, including load versus capacity assessment and new products industrialisation risks.

Build a Business Continuity Plan to mitigate major events such as fire, flood, explosion.

Manage a plan to reduce supplier risks of non-performance.

Define a visit and audit plan tailored to each supplier.

1.4. Coordinating the Safran team

Coordinate Safran internal team working with suppliers (planner, quality engineer, purchaser, industrialisation leaders).

Oversee operations and management-level coordination, including meeting rituals (yearly, monthly, weekly) with or without suppliers.

Qualifications Experience and skills required:

Master of Science (M.S.) or Master of Business Administration (MBA). Engineering degree or related field preferred.

At least 3 years of prior relevant experience.

Business Skills

Experience in operation management.

Experience in supply chain management.

Experience in project management.

Knowledge of MRO aircraft engines is a plus.

Background or knowledge of aircraft engines is a plus.

Soft Skills

Excellent communication skills (ability to summarize and convey complex messages).

Resilience to stress and pressure (especially during performance crisis).

Focused on innovation and problem solving.

Additional requirements:

5+ years in MRO purchasing, production, or supply chain.

Manufacturing knowledge in MRO offload operations.

Aviation environment experience a plus.

MRO offload operations experience a plus.

Familiar with LEAN principles; Green Belt certification preferred.

Proficient in data manipulation and efficient in Excel.

Additional Information Travel is required for this position in the US, Mexico, and France.

Integration within Safran: The SPM reports to a North American SPM Manager and interacts with commodity SPM Managers based in France.

Development: The SPM is expected to contribute to continuous improvements of Safran and suppliers portfolio using Lean/6 sigma tools to increase supplier production robustness, reduce costs, and reduce carbon footprint.
