We are partnering with a well‑established commercial construction firm based in Nashville, TN, that is seeking an experienced Project Executive to join its leadership team. This is a highly visible role responsible for overseeing the success of multiple large‑scale construction projects from preconstruction through completion, with full profit and loss accountability.

The ideal candidate is a seasoned construction professional who thrives on building relationships, developing teams, and driving project success through proactive leadership. You’ll play a key role in guiding project managers and superintendents, resolving challenges, and ensuring that client needs are met with precision, efficiency, and integrity.

About the Position As a Project Executive, you will provide strategic oversight and direction to project teams while ensuring each project is executed on time, within budget, and in alignment with the client’s expectations. You’ll serve as the senior point of contact for clients, subcontractors, and partners, strengthening relationships and representing the company’s commitment to quality and excellence.

This role combines leadership, business development, and operational management. You’ll be involved in preconstruction planning, client negotiations, and team mentorship, ensuring that every project runs smoothly and profitably.

What You’ll Do Business Development, Preconstruction, and Client Relations

Participate in client meetings, contract negotiations, and preconstruction efforts for assigned projects.

Review design plans and coordinate design‑build teams to resolve issues before they impact budget or timeline.

Oversee subcontractor invitations, selections, and major contract approvals.

Review all project estimates and subcontracts exceeding established thresholds.

Support client relationship management throughout the project lifecycle, maintaining open communication and proactive issue resolution.

Assist business development teams in pursuing new work and representing the company at client meetings and presentations.

Project Operations and Oversight

Ensure adherence to all contract requirements, communicating key details to project managers and superintendents.

Establish and monitor project success metrics, ensuring performance meets financial and client goals.

Provide guidance to project managers and field teams on scheduling, cost control, and issue resolution.

Attend regular owner and architect meetings and conduct on‑site visits to review progress and quality.

Lead project review sessions, margin analysis meetings, and closeout activities.

Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and mitigate project risk and exposure.

Act as a mentor to project management staff, fostering professional growth and leadership development.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.

Minimum of 10 years of progressive project management experience in commercial or industrial construction.

Proven success managing complex projects valued at $10M or more.

Strong organizational, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with a focus on proactive client engagement.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Procore, P6 Scheduling, and Timberline estimating.

Ability to interpret and analyze construction documents with attention to detail and accuracy.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as required (typically within a 75‑mile radius, with occasional overnight stays).
