Join Hubbell Gas Utility Solutions (HGUS) as a Quality Assurance Inspector supporting our assembly and press department on the 1st shift. Job Overview
Hubbell seeks a Quality Inspector to conduct detailed visual and dimensional inspections of product parts and processes, document results with specialized software, interpret technical drawings, and operate diagnostic tools. The role involves identifying and rejecting defective parts to maintain product integrity. Day in the Life
Knowledge of PenCell parts and processes. Visually inspect products in press for structural and surface defects. Identify part types and optional equipment. Spot check finished products per standard specifications. Understand how processing issues affect part quality. Compare product to print, parts list, or production order to verify correct product. Complete documentation for in‑process inspections. Verify hardware installation location/orientation. Confirm specified dimensions of product or material. Use SAP and computers to print labels for assemblies. Reject defective parts (pallets/…) with Reject tag. Interpret engineering drawings, diagrams and confer with QA or engineering to determine standards for questionable parts. Operate diagnostic equipment as needed. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. What will help you thrive in this role?
Practice and promote safety at all times. Follow detailed written and/or oral instructions. Apply problem‑solving skills to standard situations. Use arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) across units of measure. Communicate effectively. Lift 25–30 lbs continually when required. Maintain regular & predictable attendance. Operate forklift. Operate power tools as necessary. Potentially rework product. Company
