Maintenance Transportation Engineer (Civil)

Salary: $6,488.00 – $12,152.00 per month (ranges A to D).

Responsibilities
Conduct field reviews and analyze field data to identify distressed pavement and other roadway conditions.
Participate in Project Development Team meetings to support the District 6 Maintenance Program.
Develop strategies and plans, including specifications, cost estimates, written documents, and presentations, to manage Department assets such as roadways, drainage systems, bridges, safety features, and facilities.
Review project packages to ensure completeness, compliance with standards, and readiness for advertisement.
Provide engineering judgment and coordination for various engineering problems arising during field reviews and maintenance activities.
Qualifications
Must meet the Minimum Qualifications (Pattern II) for the class and be eligible for the TE Civil exam.
Must be on the state examination list and complete the TE Civil written hurdle exam; online TE Civil exams are not permitted without prior approval.
ABET‑accredited degree in civil engineering or related field; official transcripts required for verification.
Professional Engineering (PE) license in Civil Engineering is required for Range D; not required for other ranges.
Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is required; must be submitted as a two‑page document with numbered responses.
