A Day in the Life of a Restaurant General Manager

Control profitability by following cash control/security procedures, managing inventory, labor, and reviewing financial reports.

Recruit, interview, and hire team members, shift managers, and assistant general managers.

Coach and train employees to ensure operational excellence.

Complete inventory counts biweekly.

Maintain cleanliness and ensure guest satisfaction with friendly service and quality products.

Requirements

Minimum 1 year of experience as a General Manager in food service or retail, including Profit & Loss responsibility, preferably in QSR.

Managers must be at least 18 years old.

Availability to close the restaurant at least two nights a week.

Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull heavy objects; stand and walk constantly; operate restaurant equipment safely.

Additional Info Compensation varies based on skills, experience, location, and other factors. Starting ranges include:

Maryland: $53,000 - $58,000

New York: $55,000 - $60,000

NYC: $65,000 - $70,000

Cincinnati, OH: $54,000 - $58,000
