Warehouse Operations Manager
A well-established construction firm is seeking a
Warehouse Operations Manager
to oversee its warehouse operations in a
major Southern California city . This role supports construction job sites throughout the Los Angeles area by managing the flow of tools, equipment, and consumables used across a variety of projects.
The Warehouse Operations Manager will lead day-to-day operations of a large facility and oversee a small but growing team. This is a hands‑on role, with approximately 30% of the time spent executing warehouse tasks and 70% focused on operations, training, mentoring, and process improvement.
The ideal candidate has experience with construction materials and consumables, has previous operations manager experience in a rental environment, is Lean Six Sigma certified, thrives in a fast‑paced environment, and can drive growth and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Lead daily warehouse operations, including inventory, shipping/receiving, and logistics.
Supervise a team of warehouse staff and drivers; train and mentor employees on equipment and safety.
Increase weekly shipment volume through improved processes.
Manage inventory of ~725 SKUs, including rental equipment and consumables.
Oversee and enforce OSHA safety standards and monthly compliance training.
Work cross‑functionally with internal project managers and field personnel to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
Support equipment tracking, preventive maintenance, and proper storage.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment.
Utilize systems including AS400, ZenDesk, and Stage 100 for inventory and workflow management.
Qualifications
5–10 years of warehouse or operations experience, preferably in construction tools or equipment or in a rental organization.
Experience managing small teams and leading process improvement efforts.
Strong working knowledge of forklifts, pallet jacks, cranes, and other warehouse equipment.
OSHA 10 certification required; Hazmat and Lean Six Sigma a plus.
Proficient with inventory and warehouse management software.
Bilingual English/Spanish preferred but not required.
Willingness to work Monday–Friday from 6am–4pm and one Saturday per quarter for inventory.
Valid driver’s license and ability to train others on equipment.
