Quality Control Inspector (Field) - Maintenance

Overview
Lexicon is seeking a skilled Quality Control Inspector to join our team and help uphold the highest standards of production in our Maintenance location. This role involves ensuring adherence to shop drawings and American Welding Society specifications, guaranteeing the quality and integrity of materials. Safety is paramount in this position, as any oversight in performing essential duties could pose risks to our team and the wider community. Base pay range: $26.00/hr - $32.00/hr. The role offers competitive pay and opportunities for growth and development. Responsibilities
Inspect structural steel for plumb, level, and elevation per AISC Codes and Standards. Inspect welding and handling of welding materials for compliance with drawings and governing standards. Inspect bolted and/or riveted structural connections by fastening materials, faying surfaces, tension, etc. Assist in the inspection of materials received on the job site. Assist in the inspection of all phases of steel erection, equipment installation, etc. Perform on-site internal audits to confirm or establish compliance with AISC, AWS, and company QA/QC Manual. Ensure compliance of AISC and AWS Standards with company subcontractors. Work within guidelines provided in the company QA/QC Manual and apply codes and standards offered by related governing bodies such as AISC and AWS. Ability to work overtime and maintain regular, punctual attendance. Perform non-essential functions as needed. Qualifications
High School education or the equivalent is required. Minimum of two years’ experience in construction industry and/or welding. Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) may be required. Must be proficient in reading and interpreting structural steel drawings. Excellent communication skills. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for our company without the need for current or future visa sponsorship. Note: The company does not provide employment visa sponsorship. Physical Demands
Must be able to climb to heights more than 300 feet. Overtime and overnight travel are required. Must be able to lift up to 100 pounds occasionally. Must be able to tolerate loud noises and temperature fluctuations. This role is classified as safety sensitive. Candidates must show the capacity to proactively initiate, effectively lead, and consistently uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards.
