About the Role
We are seeking a People Operations Manager to lead core People Ops programs that ensure our employees have a seamless, compliant, and engaging experience throughout their lifecycle. This person will be responsible for owning and optimizing our HRIS and payroll systems (Rippling, BambooHR, and ADP) as part of a multi-system platform, driving accurate and timely data reporting, and ensuring compliance across multiple states.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and equally comfortable solving immediate operational needs and building scalable processes for the future. They will continuously scan for better tools, processes, and practices to elevate the employee experience and will play a key role in shaping a best-in-class People Operations function that scales with our growth.
Responsibilities
Help position People Ops as a
best-in-class operations partner
that drives efficiency, compliance, and a positive employee experience.
Own and optimize HRIS/HR platforms, maintain employee records, ensure data accuracy, and generate reports for leadership.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; manage audits, policies, and risk mitigation practices.
Oversee payroll processes (with finance), benefits enrollment, and vendor management to deliver a seamless employee experience.
Manage onboarding, offboarding, and key transitions; ensure smooth and consistent employee experiences.
Continuously evaluate and enhance People Ops processes, systems, and workflows for scalability and efficiency.
Act as a trusted partner for managers and employees on People Ops topics, including HRIS, benefits, and compliance.
Provide insights on headcount, turnover, engagement, and other People metrics to drive data-informed decisions.
What We’re Looking For Required Qualifications
5+ years of People Operations/HR experience, with at least 2 years managing HRIS systems (Rippling, BambooHR, ADP strongly preferred).
Demonstrated expertise in multi-state payroll and employment compliance practices.
Strong data analysis and reporting skills; ability to translate HR data into actionable insights.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Proven ability to balance day-to-day execution with process building and improvement.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in high-growth, multi-state or multi-entity organizations.
Familiarity with healthcare, biotech, or technology industries.
Experience integrating HRIS with payroll, ATS, and performance systems.
Comfort working in a hybrid/distributed team environment.
