Maintenance Technician – Weidner Apartment Homes

Join our team as a Community Maintenance Technician, providing timely and quality maintenance services to residents and the community. Responsibilities

Prepare apartments for occupancy including painting, drywall repair, trash removal, mechanical, plumbing and electrical repairs. Perform service requests for residents daily and timely. Perform system repairs on electrical, plumbing, boilers, hot water heaters, HVAC systems, appliances, etc. Perform detailed work with carpentry, drywall repairs and interior/exterior painting. Determine when full-paint or touch-up paint is needed, and select correct paint sheen and color. Clean pools as directed, monitor chemical balance, maintain logs as required by city ordinances. Handle daily grounds maintenance of the property including trash pickup, pet waste removal, maintenance of pet waste stations, and sweeping walkways. Participate in property improvements and preventive maintenance scheduled tasks promptly. Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled. Maintain market-ready apartments, common areas and amenities to Weidner’s quality standards. Qualifications

1-2 years of maintenance experience. Mechanical aptitude required. Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds, climb ladders and multiple flights of stairs. Ability to use appliance dolly, push/pull up to 200 pounds. Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions. Constant standing for entire work shift if applicable. Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, carpentry, swimming pool maintenance, appliances, building systems, irrigation systems, and HVAC systems. HVAC, CPO, EPA certification desired. Industry designations (e.g., CAMT) desired. Strong motivation to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication skills in person, phone, email, and text. Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) preferred. Experience with Yardi and Paycom preferred; willingness to learn new software. Compliance with Weidner’s Mission, Vision, Values, and all Fair Housing and legal policies. Prompt attendance; wear company dress code/uniform and maintain professional appearance. Willingness to work outside normal scheduled hours as needed. Willing to be assigned to other Weidner properties if needed. Working knowledge of English; detail oriented and well organized. Agreement to criminal background check and voluntary drug testing. Access to personal vehicle or reliable transportation. Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance.
