ARP Welding, one of the few AISC-Certified Fabricators in CT, is a rapidly expanding leader in structural steel and miscellaneous metals fabrication and erection. Serving commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects throughout the region. We recently expanded to 25,500 sq. ft. in Oxford, CT. We are seeking motivated individuals to grow with us and join our results-driven, fast-paced team. We are now seeking a dedicated Purchasing Agent to join our dynamic team. Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent responsible for managing the procurement process, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring inventory levels meet operational needs. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain management and logistics, as well as proficiency in using procurement systems. The Purchasing Agent will play a critical role in maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of our purchasing operations. Duties

Buy goods and services necessary for the organization, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness. Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms. Manage inventory levels through effective inventory management practices to prevent shortages or excess stock. Utilize Tekla PowerFab to send quotes, purchase orders, etc. Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of products and materials. Monitor supplier performance and resolve any issues related to quality, delivery, or pricing. Analyze market trends and supplier performance data to inform purchasing decisions. Qualifications

Proven experience in procurement or purchasing roles, preferably within manufacturing or construction. Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving favorable outcomes. Familiarity with supply chain management principles and practices. Proficiency in Tekla PowerFab or similar procurement systems is highly desirable. Knowledge of logistics processes and inventory management techniques. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with suppliers and internal teams. Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
