Responsibilities
Export Compliance Leadership
- Manage all aspects of export compliance, including but not limited to restricted party screening, customer due diligence, export control jurisdiction and classification, license determination, technology transfers, sanctions compliance and recordkeeping.
Export Program Management
- Lead internal and external export assessments and audits and improve processes to ensure compliance.
Process Improvement & Training
- Develop, implement, and maintain export compliance policies, procedures, and technical solutions aligned with business objectives; develop and deliver training to internal stakeholders on export compliance requirements.
Regulatory Interpretation & Support
- Provide regulatory interpretation and guidance on export-related matters, including classification and jurisdiction (ECCN, USML), customer due diligence, licensing, sanctions, and technology transfers; collaborate with outside counsel and consultants as needed.
Documentation & Recordkeeping
- Ensure global trade records are maintained in accordance with government document retention requirements; oversee export classifications, screening, and documentation.
Required Experience and Skills
Expertise in U.S. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) is a must; familiarity with categories 3, 5 and 9 is highly desirable.
Knowledge about International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) sanctions, and other relevant export laws.
Bachelor's degree required; professional certification in trade compliance or export control preferred.
10+ years of relevant experience in export compliance, preferably in the semiconductor or technology manufacturing sector.
Subject matter expertise in U.S. export regulations (EAR), familiarity with OFAC sanctions and ITAR, anti-boycott regulations, export licensing, and restricted party screening.
Strong project management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate complex regulatory matters to non-experts.
Experience conducting internal audits and assessments is a plus.
Collaborative and creative approach; ability to work across functions and with all levels of the workforce.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally occasionally.
Desired Experience and Skills
Experience working with engineers and high technology products/services.
Familiarity with non-U.S. trade compliance regulations.
Spanish language skills are a plus. Chinese is a big plus too.
Implementation experience and familiarity with major screening systems, e.g., OCR EASE system, Dow Jones screening, Sayari, Kharon, SAP GTS would be preferred.
Semiconductor industry experience preferred.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$114,400 -$220,200 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others.
